This is a place, a must visit. The food was awesome. The service excellent and the interior is having a good old days vibe with excellent wood carving of doors, panels and stairs. The decor is awesome.

Wow, what a beautiful restaurant. Really cool building with two lovely patios. The food was really good and the service was quick for a busy Sunday afternoon. Glad we could stop there for lunch on our drive through Albany. We enjoyed the black bean burger and Buddha bowl. We’re not vegans, but they had great options. Also enjoyed blueberry pomegranate iced tea.

This was a lovely Saturday breakfast treat and a beautiful place to experience at least once. Be sure to book and reserve ahead of time because the wait can be very long. Once seated, you really feel the charm of the old mansion atmosphere. The historic character, cozy seating spaces, and courtyard setting create a warm and memorable experience. The service was very friendly, and there was a good menu selection to choose from. I ordered the special that day — the lemon poppy pancakes — but honestly, they were not as tasty as I expected, and the home fries were a little disappointing as well. That being said, everyone else at the table seemed very happy with their meals, so it may simply have come down to personal taste or my particular order. Overall, I’m glad I experienced it, and the atmosphere alone made the visit worthwhile. I always try to leave an honest and balanced review.

What a delightful surprise! A friend and I went here for lunch today and it was such a charming place, with inside/outside dining, great menu with fresh fresh fresh food. I had a wonderful sandwich. Katie had the gluten free french toast - looked yummy! Waitstaff was great, atmosphere was too. Will be back for sure!

Iron Gate Cafe is hands down the most mouth-watering brunch spot in downtown Albany. The interior is gorgeous and welcoming, the service is lovely, and the food is expectional. The pancakes and elvis memphis entree is outstanding. Always order a side of cornbread; it is decadent. They have a large variety of food to select from including lunch options like burgers and chicken sandwiches. The drinks are delicious. I highly recommend the ice Chai, hot chai, and if you are feeling spicy the mimosas. The food and drink specials rotate. They are family friendly establishment as well. The staff is incredibly friendly and this truly makes a difference when dining out. The noise level can be moderate but it is fairly easy to still chat. This cafe is definitely worth checking out.
